Welcome back to CASUAL FRIDAYS! Our weekly, one-microphone recording series!

This week we welcome our friends Ned & The Dirt and it was a surprisingly difficult entry into the Casual Friday cannon. Ned has a pretty incredibly loud singing voice and it seemed like he was almost overpowering the drums as well as his fingerpicking acoustic guitar waltz. We eventually decided to run the acoustic through a little amp and even get Ned to face into another room while he was singing at the end of the song just so we could keep a good balance without the mic peaking like crazy.

Ned & the Dirt just released a new rock & roll album called "Giants" that you should give a listen to, and check out the video of the performance by our friends over at later today!

Welcome back to CASUAL FRIDAYS! Our weekly, one-microphone recording series.

Euphoria Again was recently in town recording some new songs with Mat Cothran of Coma Cinema/Elvis Depressedly. They stopped by one night, and John threw down this beuatiful gem they had been working on. He didn't have a title at the time (and I haven't been on top of the game enough to track one down from him), but they were just referring to it as "D." A beautiful song paired with one of my favorite Casual Friday drawings yet (by Jordan Blackmon).

Keep it casual.

Welcome back to CASUAL FRIDAYS! Our weekly, one-microphone recording series!

This week we are so excited to welcome our good friends from Charleston, ELIM BOLT! We are so proud of the way this Casual Friday session sounds. Recording with one microphone is always a challenge, especially when bands want to incorporate a combination of electric and acoustic instruments. ELIM BOLT may have been the best candidate to get this balance right, between their ability to keep their electric energy (even at a low volume), and Johnnie's booming crooning voice that was able to carry so well over all the building sounds. We're all proud of the result and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

This week we were also able to team up with our new friends over at Dan Manor (thanks for the introduction, SceneSC) who came over and filmed the session and put together this amazingly beautiful video of the performance...

Thanks everyone who threw in helping hands!
