Can’t Kids

Can’t Kids was formed in 2010 when Adam Cullum and Jessica Oliver combined their musical energies to rectify the world’s lack of Dadaist swamp pop. The resulting high-grade freak-out, called Dawn Shredder, revealed two things about the song writers; both were possessed by ghosts of those who died in a flood, and both managed, impossibly, to play louder than the other. After carrying on in this unseemly fashion for a time, the re-titled Can’t Kids duo became a foursome, keeping the new name and adding the inimitable sultry low end of Amy Cutherbertson and Henry Thomas to create the spectacle that would become the band’s final form.  So here we find Can’t Kids, testing the boundaries of lyrical intent and musical description; four people capable of music that allows the listener an insight on the twist and turns of consciousness and the unconsciousness that allows twisting and turning.
